Focus on... BEPA, the Batteries European Partnership Association
BEPA is at the origin of FREE4LIB: thanks to the Horizon Europe funding calls they draft with the European Commission, the FREE4LIB consortium was able to receive the funding to create the project.
BEPA is a Belgian non-profit Association which aims to build a sustainable, circular, and competitive European industrial battery value chain. It brings together more than 220 members, amongst which are several members of the FREE4LIB consortium: Eurecat, Eurobat, Fraunhofer, Erion, IREC, CARTIF, POLIMI, Sakarya University. This strong network of stakeholders from the battery sector, as well as universities and other non-profit stakeholders benefit from first-hand information and research findings and contribute to battery R&I strategy at European level.
Together, BEPA and the European Commission form the BATT4EU Partnership, a co-programmed public-private contractual partnership established under Horizon Europe. The objective of BATT4EU is to achieve a sustainable, circular, and competitive European industrial value-chain for e-mobility and stationary applications. Through the Partnership, BEPA and the Commission co-write the calls for proposal for battery research projects featured in the Cluster 5 of Horizon Europe.
BATT4EU is the starting point of 34 Horizon Europe calls in the batteries sector. FREE4LIB is proud to be amongst the first beneficiaries of the BATT4EU programme.
